Photosmart Plus B210: Scan Tasks keeps crashing [ Edited ]

I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing this problem, except I've got an OfficeJet 7500A; I'm also running OS X 10.7.2, but I saw this issue on 10.7.1 as well. Ugh.. I've found a semi-workaround by finding the Automator tasks in my ~/Library/ folder and opening them up with Automator and editing them that way, but the printer driver likes to overwrite them with defaults at random...  Hope HP releases the bug fix soon...

I will say this, though... I have an older PhotoSmart 3200 and the HP scan software has come a LONG way since I got that printer... other than this crash, the software has been rock solid, and it doesn't eat CPU like it used to... 

I'm still trying to find where the defaults actually come from...

Same Problem with an Officejet 8500. Are there any solutions now?

I have the same problem with the Photosmart 7510.  Bought it 4 days ago, nothing but problems setting it up. HP said that the servers were down so I couldn't get efax to work.  Got that working, now every time I try to change the scan output to "desk top" it crashes every time I hit save.  

Is there ANY solution yet HP?  

No wonder you are going out of business in the PC world.

Since submitting my original problem with HP (Aug 2011) all I have received is a "yeah, there is a problem"...and then silence!!!! Nothing!!! Such poor customer service tells me everything I need to know about HP. They have failed to reply to me with a solution to this. Months I have been waiting. Disgusting!!!

just want to let you know that HP has released a software patch that solves the issue with HP Utility crashing. You can find it here: Critical Update to fix Scan to Computer issue on Mac OS X v10.7

Please note that it will update your HP Scan application with a new layout as well.
