Photosmart Premium C309a Win 7 Scanned images not saved

Solutions Center scan photo function will only save one image when multiple photos are scanned. Have reinstalled software and tried to apply patches recommended in this thread; still have the problem. If 5 photos are scanned on the flatbed and covverted to individual images, only first image is saved, It appears that all images are saved based on the on-screen messages/status windows, but only the first image is in the target directory. No error messages. Any help will be appreciated; I have several hundred photos to scan!

I tried applying this patch previously, but I get a message saying that the patch does not apply to any device drivers on my system and I don't need it. There is no way to continue the installation from that message.

When the Solution Center loads, the splash page has this version number displayed:

140.0.14.18

This is so frustrating!  I've owned the all-in-one for just over a year and had no occasion to scan phots until now, only to find out it won't work.

Uninstalled all the HP software and drivers through Win 7 Control Panel.

Installed the downloaded v.14 HP software and drivers and set the c309a printer back up.

Tried to scan multiple photos off the flatbed and save as .tif files, but only the first image was saved in the destination directory.

Changed the saved  format to .jpg and all the photos showed up in the destination directory. Go figure???

Apparently Solution Center doesn't like .tif files.
