Please help. Today I bought the above printer. I may return it Sunday or Monday. I press on the install button, I hear a sound, nothing happens, no changes. It is possible that I made a mistake w/inputting the software too soon or having something plugged to soon. The HP symbol is on desktop. I double click and 3 items come up; I believe reader and two others. Nothing happens when I click on each of them. Is the software installed when it is on desktop? I've called HP numberous times over the past few hours. The recorded voice tells me "one center is down. You may hold for awhile or call back or go to HP.com." I HOLD and it disconnects me. I have to receive a 16 page document by fax tomorrow, Sunday. So, should I take it back? Thank you.

To receive a fax, you don't need to install the software. Just plug in the phone cable into the Line 1 port at the back, and turn on Auto Answer on the machine.
As for the installation problem, the symptoms you're facing is not quite clear. You'll to explain it in more detail, and provide full names and not just "reader and two others".
