My computer crashed and I am trying to get set up on a new computer. My new computer runs on Vista (the old one was XP).
I downloaded and installed the software for my HP 3180 All-In-One printer/scanner/copier, using the Vista compatible selection from the HP Website.
I had a also download a patch to get the scanner funtion to work on my new computer, becuase it is a tablet PC.
When I launch Photosmart, it begins to load my pictures, but then it tells me that it has stopped working and has to close. The solution it offers is that I need to uninstall HP Image Zone and then download and install HP Photosmart Essential.
I went to the Control Panel and checked the programs and there is no evidence there that I have Image Zone on this computer, so I have no clue how to uninstall it (that is where the message from HP told me to go to uninstall, and it's also where I would have gone if doing it on my own). Also, the software that I DID download and install IS ALREADY Photosmart Essential.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
-cynthia
