Scanned Files Disappear after Scanning with Updated HP Solution Center
Have a HP Officejet Pro L7590 all in one. Running Vista 64bit.
Updated my Solution Center to the 14 version. Now when I scan something in, it scans in OK then when I save it to file it disappears. Looked on the HP site and found critical update for this problem, however the critical update is for the 13 version and when I try to run it it tells me I don't need it and will not continue.
Also: (may have something to do w/ the problem) When using/opening the Solution Center, when I go to the "ScanPicture" or "Scan Document" buttons, then go to "Change Settings" There is nothing in the drop down menu for the "Scan To:" section.
Have already tried Unistall and Re-install serveral times. Does not work.

Hi,
Both of the issues indeed related to each other.
Please try the following:
Make sure the HP Solution Center is closed.
Enter C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\Digital Imaging\bin and locate the hpqxmlul.dll file.
Move that file to any temporary folder elsewhere than your desktop, just for backup porpuses.
Download and save the following file to your desktop, extract it by double clicking, a new hpqxmlul.dll file will appear on your desktop.
Move that file to C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\Digital Imaging\bin.
Now launch the HP Solution center and try scanning, check of any change with the Scan To list as well.
Please let me know of any change.

It Worked! Drop down menu there and scanned file saved. Thank You so much.
I guess now I can delete the old dll file I saved for back up and the file downloaded to desktop?

You are welcome, really glad to know your problem has been sorted.
Yes, you can delete the old dll file from the temporary folder now indeed.
I will appriciate if you may mark the solution's post as Accepted Solution so others with a similar problem will be able to easily locate it as well ![]()

I too am having problems exactly like the previous user had. I installed v14 of the software for HP L7590 and the scanned files do not appear. I attempted your solution. When I click on the following file link you provided, I get an FTP dialiog box asking me for my user ID and passowrd to the HP USA FTP SITE. Any ideas to how I can get the hpqxmlul.dll file.Thank you.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am a registered member and already signed in with my HP Passport. I still get the Internet Explorer request for an ID and password to access the HP FTP site. Internet Explorer security settings?

If your OS is 64 bit, follow the steps above exectly as is,
However, if it is 32 bit envoirnment you will find the file within the following path:
C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin

How does one access the "following file" if it makes you Log On and does not accept your log on information???? Very frustrating! Can you please just give the file name which contains the new hpqxmlul.dll file?
