[Solved] Photosmart C7280 cuts off last line of page

As you see in the pic above, the last line of page always in completed prining. This happened both text and graphic.

You can fix it without waiting for a new driver which is not fixed.

1. Open printer properties

 2. Choose Ports and disable bidirectional.

Do you using Vista ?   I have to switch back to use bi-directional again to avoid Printer Offline.

This is not a solution as it disables screen error messages and notifications about ink levels among other problems.

Thank you.  I just upgraded to Windows 7 and have only installed its printer driver(s) for my C7280.  I experienced two problems.  One was automatic duplex printing (two-sided printing) which was fixed by telling Properties | Advanced (I think it was?) that the printer hardware for double-sided copying was 'INSTALLED'.  The second problem (and I hope the last) was this 'last line printing only half' problem and your fix worked perfect for that.  I remember having this same problem before under Vista 64-bit but forgot the solution until reading yours.

BTW, I still am not installing HP's extra software features.  I check ink levels and scan and copy and fax directly at the printer.  When I scan I scan to a USB flash memory and transfer the scan to the computer that way.  Fortunately, I can upload camera pictures to the computer and from the computer print them using the picture print tray on the C7280--works great.

P.S.  This printer has been very functional but problematic from day one.  I've threatened many times over to quit HP all together for the very poor offshore technical phone support I've received in the past.  But the printer keeps on ticking!

OMG - BLESS YOU ! 

I could scan and copy.  But, I could only print 1/2 a page and then the print job would hang. 

I fought with this for a year +. 

I spent too much time reloading software and reading support articles.

I was so close to getting a new printer.
