Update Installation Interfering with Function because it cannot locate update installation file

Product Name/Number: HP Photosmart C7250

OS: Vista 32-bit

Error Message: "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.  Click OK to try again, or enter analternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'HPProductAssistant.msi' in the box below."

Changes:  Permitted product to run which then had restart function

Problem:  The message error keeps recurring and interferes with computer function.  I've searched for the package without success.  I have no idea what to do other than to ask you for help.  Either provide a way to obtain the installation package or to cancel the permission.

Re: Update Installation Interfering with Function because it cannot locate update installation file

I have searched for the HPProductAssistant.msi on my computer without success.  I need help with either obtaining the installation package or instructions on how to terminate the permission to install it.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?  Please help.  This problem is starting to drive me absolutely buggy.  Thank you.
