when you want to have the double-side printing but also advisable to check the print settings
when clicking the advance button or preference and if the duplexer is selected for some printer
will have the way you want to print such as a example: long, short, booklet
upon selectingthe options will result the outcome
also for the non-duplex printer or doing a manual double-sided printing
go to the advance tab and click on the A & B text as look like a open page
and click the manual and there will be some choices how you want the outcome
good points or advice..
Aslo if the questions or issues solved please check it

I installed the patch from Bob Headrick. The patch solved the problem that the back page was printed upside down with the duplex unit in my OfficeJet 7210.
Many thanks to Bob.

Thanks Bob,
The patch you supplied solved the back page upside down issue on our Officejet 7310 All-in-One Printer and the detailed version of the instructions were clear and easy to follow. You solved a technical problem that HP should already have had well in hand. Many Thanks.
Paul

Robert847-
For some printers the default is the duplexer is "not installed".
Go to Start, Printers, doubleclick on the Deskjet 5600 series, Printers, Properties, Device Settings and set the duplexer to "Installed".
You will likely still need the patch to get the back page to print right side up....

I emailed Bob Headrick to request the patch file. He replied very quickly and included instructions for installing the patch. I got it done in minutes and the problem was solved. Thank you very much.

Patch worked great on my 7310xi w/ Vista 64 and instructions were super easy. Thanks Bob.
Makes me wonder why HP doesn't just fix this issue since it is literally 10 lines in the GPD file.

It's my understanding that changing the lines in the GPD of the built in drivers that came with Vista is not possible due to MS licensing of the software. With Vista they moved to a closed source license meaning 3rd party manufacturers send their code to MS and then MS does what it wants with it. With XP it used to be shared meaning vendors had a choice of letting MS use their code or paying to see the MS code and writing their own drivers.
Now, as to why HP doesn't just put a patch or an upgrade out to fix this, is again due to the licensing agreement with MS, any patches/upgrades have to be sent from MS. Why hasn't MS fixed this? Because according to them it's a printer driver issue resulting in what HP sent them and to fix it, HP has to start from scratch, including all fees (so rumour has it).
As the end user? We just thank the Diety of our choice that people like Bob have taken it on themselves to make a patch and make it available.
