Re: Vista Duplex Solution - Back Page Upside Down

[ Edited ]

Hmmm... I *might* have found a further bug. If someone else could try this and verify it..... ??

I have a 3310. Earlier today I applied the patch and the issue was fixed, as least as far as I tested. (Which was only simple Duplexing with one page per sheet of paper.)

But while "one page per sheet" printing duplexes perfectly, "x pages per sheet" comes out the same way as the original bug: alternating pages upside-down as though you chose "flip pages up". I just discovered this when I went to print a long doc I wanted to put on fewer sheets.

I should also point out that between the time I applied the patch, 3 updates were delivered by the HP updater. I installed them, then reapplied the patch since the updates overwrote the patch file. So now I can duplex correctly only when I use one page per sheet.

If this can be verified perhaps you can look at it, Bob?

Re: Vista Duplex Solution - Back Page Upside Down

Bob,

Thanks so much.  My HP 6110 All-in-One is finally working like it use to in XP.  I can duplex now and save half a forest.

Your generosity in making this fix available to all of us is outstanding.

Best wishes to you.

Re: Vista Duplex Solution - Back Page Upside Down

I applied the Vista Driver patch, supplied by Bob, for my HP Officejet 7300 all-in-one series printer (7310 model) and it worked perfectly. Thanks Bob!

I am very disappointed that HP has made no attempt to fix the duplex problem considering it is has been an issue since the Vista operating was release in 2007. I only just discovered it as I was recently forced to start using the horrible MS Vista operating system. Considering a lot of us have invested money on MS Vista, HP will need to step up to the plate to ensure their products work with Vista. If not then the products should show up on the Microsoft and HP websites as not being fully compatible.  Misleading the public is not good business practice.

In the past I have purchase/recommended many HP products to my clients/friends but if this is the way they will be supporting the products, going forward, I will need to start purchasing/recommending other vendor products.

Re: Vista Duplex Solution - Back Page Upside Down HP 9670

I had the same problem when using a HP 9670 in a laptop with Vista Business. The driver I am using is the one for the HP 9800, which is the most similar one to my printer.

I followed Bob Headrick easy steps and the printer the back of pages properly.

Thanks Bob!

I wonder why don't they implement your solution directly from HP, issuing new drivers?

Re: Vista Duplex Solution - Back Page Upside Down

Thanks Bob. You saved the day. I used your patch on 2 Vista machines and it worked like you advertised. One Vista box was 32-bit the other 64-bit. The only difference was the directory used. Thanks again.

Re: Vista Duplex Solution - Back Page Upside Down

Bob,

I just installed your patch and it worked as advertised.  I don't know what else I would have done... this HP programming error makes the duplex unit unusable with Vista, and I could not find an update from HP for it.  The instructions were complete and easy to follow.

Thank you!
