Thanks so very much for the patch, Bob! You're my new hero.
I have an older 7410 and with some tweaking, I was able to get the patch to install.
For anyone who is getting system file error messages while trying to rename the file, "ren hpo7x00t.gpd *.bak" do a search for the file HPO7x00T.GPD, verify it's not the one you just unzipped (check the date) and right click to rename it.
I also had problems with the command "copy %temp%\hpo7x00t.gpd c:" so I manually dragged the new driver (HPO7x00T.GPD) into the Spool>Drivers>w32x86>3 folder, and after that everything worked perfectly.
No more upside-down pages!!!!

Bob,
Installing the patch worked and I didn't even need to reboot.
I had no problem following the instructions and did not encounter any errors!
Thanks so much!!!

In the command prompt, I did get an error message “file not found”. I checked and knew that I had extracted the files to the right folder. When I checked the folder, the file name had been extracted in all caps. The instructions provided for the command were in all lower case. When I tried again, typing in the file name with all caps, it worked perfectly!
Kudos!

Grazie ancora

What is the issue with the Officejet 8500? I do not have a patch for this model but have not heard any reports that the back side prints upside down on ths one. If it dows go to the finishing tab and make sure "flip pages up" is not checked.

You have to use the HP DeskJet 9800 driver instead of the cp1700 driver.
Dear Bob Headrick,
Thank you for the cp1700 Patch.
But . . . . this patch did not work for 100%.
After having applied the patch in the cp1700 driver successfully, it solved the problem using Microsoft word.
But using Acrobat reader 8.0 to print a multipage PDF document, there is still a serious problem, the sequence of the pages are not correct, even one page is turned 180°.
Downloaded Acrobat 9 did not solve the problem.
Have read some recommendations in the past: you have to use the HP DeskJet 9800 driver instead of the cp1700 driver.
Have applied your patch in this HP DeskJet 9800 driver the problem is solved, so Word & Acrobat works now 100% ok.
Bob many thanks for this.
Just one side comment, I was not able to extract to %temp%, tried to create “temp” map in the root of C: did not work.
So I used Microsoft “Explorer “ to move the hpw9800t.gpd file to the right location.

I'm sorry! I misunderstood it. My problem is. If I printing in duplex, the back side printing starting ca. 1cm bellow. It was problem with OfficeJet Pro 7590.
The second problem is some times the printer forgets to print the sheet's end out sometimes (ca. 0.5 cm)

would you kindly send me the patch. I have the printer installed on Vista with duplexer and it works -- except for the upside down second pages. . Thanks
