I recently upgraded to windows 7 from winXP... i want to install hp solution center and drivers but the cd does not support win7 and aborts in the middle of the installation. Is there any way i can install the software without downloading a huge file(upto 50 mb is fine).

Hi,
Sorry, but you will either need to download the Windows 7 version of the Full Feature software for your printer to be able to install HP Solution Centre. If you are prepared to wait a little, you can also usually order the installation disc if you wish to. To check both options, use the link below, enter your printer Model No, and select Software and Downloads. Then choose your OS and look at the options available.
Best wishes,

Hi,
If you wish to download the installer for Windows 7, it's on the link below. There is not a driver only option for this model that I can find. As this is a large download ( well it is for my internet speed! ), make sure to save the download to your desktop first and make a copy of it ( say to a blank CD ) so if you ever need to reinstall, you won't have to download this again. If you choose Advanced during the start of the installation, you can decide which of the bundled software you wish to install - I realise this is not much help as I imagine you want to reduce the size of the download.

It looks like currently our website only has the full feature software available for download for the HP Deskjet F4185 and not just the basic drivers. However if you are only looking to print, you can typically go to your control panel, then to your Printers folder (may show devices and printers, or something similar), then you can click on add a printer, and follow the instructions from there to add a local device, and this will give you basic printing functionalities. You won't have the HP software such as solution center that may be bundled with it, however it will still allow you to print.
I hope this helps. ![]()

If you are looking for the basic drivers for the J4680, we definately have those available for you. I'll include a link to that particular printer's downloads below, and then all you have to do is select the correct operating system, click on Driver, and then select the basic driver option.
One thing to keep in mind is that the basic drivers do not come with the solution center software, or any of those extra programs, but it will give your computer enough information to get you up and running.
