Why will HP not address this issue! It's very frustrating for the customer and reflects very badly on HP as a company. All we need is a functioning driver that allows us to print more than 2 pages.

I am having the same issue as everyone else. This printer was working perfectly with my old Vista 32 laptop. Since then I bought a new desktop running Win 7 64 bit operating system and now I am unable to print more than a few pages at a time. This is so intensely frustrating. Surely HP knows that this is a driver issue, but remain releuctatnt to fix this bug.

I am having the same issue as everyone else. This printer was working perfectly with MS XP. Since then I bought a new desktop running Win 7 64 bit operating system and now I am unable to print more than a few pages at a time. This is so intensely frustrating. (*I've borrowed last post*)
My observation: printer works fine with x64 applications. If I try to print some docs from x32 Office - it goes silent after 1-2 pages. I can't install Office x64 because of it's incompatibility with mathtype. So anyways, if we put Office aside, we still have a problem with a bunch of x32 applications, from which we need a print.
I've contacted with russian HP support - they've put simple "this printer is incompatible with x64 Win 7". I don't get. It's some kind of smart strategy to make people buy new printers, or what? Today is march 2012, last update of x64 driver - october of 2009 (which doesn't work properly). I want to hear something clear about updates or it's absence in future.
Thanks in advance.

hamgames,
Are you having specific trouble with installing the m1005 drivers or just need help locating them?
Here is a link to the windows 7 64 bit driver...
This is a plug and play driver so you will have to use a USB cable.
Before proceeding with the software installation, the printer and your computer must first be properly set up. Do not connect the USB cable until the software installation prompts you.
- Close any software programs running on your computer.
- Double click on the downloaded file. This will extract all the driver files and launch the installer.
- Follow the instructions presented by the installation program. Connect the USB cable when prompted.
Say Thanks by clicking the Kudos Star in the post that helped you.

Hi All,
We can try the following steps to resolve the issue:
1.One of the possibilites of above mentioned issue could be the length of usb cable [<=2mtrs] or no usb hub is connected.
2.Restart the spooler service in services.msc
3.we can also have a check by upgrading firmware of printer which is newly updated on the hp website.
Find the firmware link below
If it resolve the issue ,kindly reply.
