Re: Windows 7 C7200 / C7280 offline

Hi,

I have to agree with DoctorChris.

This is a real shame due to the fact that the C7280 is a physically well built machine. It is physically reliable, economical and quick. If only HP could put even a fraction of the effort into producing their software, they may end up with a good overall product!!

I have had this machine for just on 3 years now, I have delibrately gone out and purchased an Epson Artisan 835 to replace it due to the lack of support from HP (Naturally, I am out of warranty - most other companies I deal with still offer software support even if their base product is over 5 years old - ie Canon, Pioneer, Sony, Gigabyte, Asus and many others).

I am establishing a small IT company myself at the moment and there is now way that I can concientiously advise any of my clients to purchase HP - even my larger clients who are looking at server hardware.

This is a real pity as I know HP from when I was dealing and using test equipment for microwave links and other radio gear, Then, HP was the most reliable and well supported equipment you could get.

All I can say is that Bill Hewlett and Dave Pickard must be turning over in their graves - all their work has now been tarnished!

good luck to the rest of you. I just hope the people responsible for HP's ethics turn around before this company goes under!

Regards

Pete

TO THE HP TECH.....I TRIED YOUR SUGGESTION ON THE FIX - IT DOES NOT WORK...ALWAYS HAVE TO UNISTALL AND REINSTALL EACH TIME I WANT TO PRINT.  IT GOES OFFLINE CONSTANTLY....IT'S VERY TIME CONSUMING AND FRUSTRATING.  APPREICATE THE FACT THAT YOU ARE LOOKING TO HELP THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE THIS ISSUE

WHY DO THEY HAVE A CONNECT BUTTON FOR THIS PROBLEM OF BEING OFFLINE ON A HP PHOTOSMART C7280 WHEN YOU  CAN'T EVEN USE IT.  IT DOES NOT EVEN RECOGNIZE IT WHEN YOU TRY ON CLICK ON IT.

Re: Windows 7 C7200 / C7280 offline

I am still having trouble with my printer with this issue, I tried to download this fix, and now it says I don't have this printer on my network.  This is getting really freaking frustrating.  There has to be a better way!!!!!  I can't find any other info out there on how to fix this problem.  Does ANYONE have a solution, I'm getting tired of having to uninstall and reinstall the **bleep** thing almost every time.  Hours of my life I'm never getting back...

Re: Window 7 Photosmart 2710 offline

My Pavilion dv6 HP Window 7 laptop shows after a short thunderstorm that my HP Photosmart 2710 all in one printer is offline.  What can I do to reconnect it to the computer?  Thank you very much for any help.

Re: Windows 7 C7200 / C7280 offline

Have had my HP C7280 since 2010 and the problem w/ the printer going off line started last night.  Made me crazy.  Thought there was something easy that I was overlooking.  My son Googled the problem and we learned that it is a pervasive and unresolved HP issue.  I was able to resolve by uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software.  Hard to believe that this bug has been out there for quite some time and there is no fix. If this problem continues, I will purchase a new printer but will likely never purchase another HP product.
