Windows 7 LaserJet 6P Driver Not Working

I'm glad to hear you've got a working printer now.  I know the toner carteridge costs more than the MP3, but I still haven't bought a new one since I originally bought the 2300.  I think the cost/page is still pretty low.  By the way, did you get a used one and how much did you pay?

I bought a refurb unit with duplex on eBay for under $100.  I saw some cheaper, and many more expensive, but this has a 90-day warranty, and the seller has excellent fedback.  It's for my home (family use), so it won't get lots of use, but I'd rather use a laserjet and save the color inkjet (talk about expensive ink) for color-only jobs.  I was going to toss the LJ6 on eBay, but my brother can use it at his office, so I'm going to give it to him.

And yes, I'm in the US, so thanks and have a nice Thanksgiving as well!

The way is with windows update button, then download the driver.

But in my case my computer it's not connect to internet, obviusly not download the driver.

I try download from other computer but ....  driver not found.

THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!!  It's amazing that HP is still claiming the Laserjet 6p is not supported in Windows 7.  Your procedure worked exactly as described.

Thank you.  I had to reload the driver twice but it is working perfectly now.

Yep , process worked for me.... My 6P is shared on a Win7 32 bit machine for now, and added a new Win64 bit i5 PC on the home network, and did as you said ....to install as local printer first, then add as a network printer...wala, works !!

My next  step is to replace the 32 bit machine with a new i7 64 bit and will see if the same process works with an parallel port card added.  still waiting for it before I completely replace my trusty old print server P4....
