I have a virtual machine running Windows XP to use some old software that isn't compatible with Windows-7. I also would like to print to my HP C7180 all-in-one printer from the XP VM. I downloaded the entire 520MB app and driver package, and then just the 72MB driver package, but both give me errors stating:
This system does not meet one or more of the minimum requirements needed to install this product. The installation cannot continue.
Requirement/Details and Guidance
USB Drivers/This computer does not have the necessary USB software support to allow completion of a USB installation. The installation cannot continue until this is resolved.
USB Hardware/Required Action: Click Cancel to exit this software installation. In order to install this device as a USB device, please refer to your computer documentation or USB add-in card documentation for more information about USB drivers.
I don't want to do a USB installation, but a Network installation as this all-in-one is connected only to my network.
Is there any way to force this software (with an option/switch) to only do a network installation? It never gets to the part where it asks what type of install where you can choose USB or Through the Network.
A link to where I can simply download the drivers that would allow me to print only would work as I can create a local LPR printer port using the printer's IP address.
Please advise...
