how do i get the machine to come back on after it goes into power saver mode? HP Officejet 4500g

after my machine has been on for a while it goes into energy saver mode all lights turn off with the exception of the power button and I am unable to get the machine to come out of power saver mode what do I need to do>

hey Antekesusan,

 

Can you clarify which model Officejet 4500 you are using? Here is the three different models:

 

HP Officejet 4500 Advantage All-in-One Printer - K710g ›
HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One Printer - G510h ›
HP Officejet 4500 Desktop All-in-One Printer - G510b ›
If your unsure you can click those links and see the picture of the product. Let me know which one and I will be able to give you some better troubleshooting steps. Also include what operating system your computer is using this way I can provide diagnostic tools if they are available.

this document talks like I have no power.  I have power and my machine works just fine unless I let it go into sleep mode then I have to unplug the printer as the power button will not shut the printer off.  The printer will not do anything.  It just sits there with the power button lit up but will not come out of sleep mode.  I do not know it I am saying something incorrectly but that doc. did not help me.

Alright, I would  suggest running the HP Print & Scan Doctor to see if it is able to resolve your issue. It will check to see if there is any hardware issues or issues with power. Also be sure the printer is not connected into a surge protector or anything similar. If it does not resolve the issue, post back with any new details and we will continue from there.
