Hello,
I need to install the driver "HP Officejet 7200 series" on a macine that does not have the HP 7210 printer attached.
The machine will be accessed via a terminal server session over a Juniper Networks secure VPN. This allows a printer on a local machine to be accessed and printed on from the remote machine - but the remote machine needs to have the drivers installed.
So, my question is how do I simply obtain and install the driver named "HP Officejet 7200 series" ?
I have tried the HP driver downloads plus my original driver CD but none of them seem to install any drivers because I don't have the printer attached to the machine. All I want is to end up with the appropriate driver "HP OfficeJet 7200 series" available in the Windows XP "Add Printer" dialog.
Before anyone suggests it, I can not temporarily attach the printer to the remote machine because they are 50 miles apart ![]()
Many thanks.

Overwhelmed by the response on here, I've managed to find a solution to this and I post it here in case others find it useful.
The trick is to realise you need a local driver and a remote driver that are the same. It does not need to be the 7210 driver.
I found that the DeskJet990C driver from the default windows "add printer" dialogue worked fine.
First install that on the local machine, selecting the same port that the already installed 7210 is using. Install and print a test page to make sure it works.
Next, install the same driver on the remote machine.Just choose any local port.
Then start a new remote session and the printer should show up as a deskjet 990c and printing from the remote machine should work.
