multiple scanned pages in one output file

I have an 8600 and am using HP Scan software.  I want to make multiple scans and include those in one output file.  If the media prevents me from using the auto feed on the printer, how can I do this?  A different HP scan software I had used previously had an option which asked if I wanted to add additional pages.  I do not see that option on this software.

Thanks

Re: multiple scanned pages in one output file

Hi,

With the software provided for the specific device, you can only scan multiple pages into a single file using the ADF while using the Device Front Panel to initiate the scan.

In order to scan multiple pages from the glass, enter the HP software. You will find it listed as the printer name on the desktop or under All Programs > HP.

Click Scan a Photo or Document, select PDF and click Scan.

Using the Plus button you may add additional pages from the Flatbed scanner.

While completing the scan job, click Save.

Please let me know in case of any problem,

Shlomi

Re: multiple scanned pages in one output file

Thanks for the reply.

The capability you describe is exactly what I had when I had the 8500 printer.  The HP Scan software which is available with the 8600 does not show the plus to add pages.

Re: multiple scanned pages in one output file

Oh ok.

From the software, click Scan a document or photo

Select the PDF shortcut.

Make sure to check the Show Scan Preview option within the right pane and then click Scan.

You should now see the scam preview including an option to add or remove pages.

Regards.

Re: multiple scanned pages in one output file

I believe we are discussing different versions of software.  The HP Scan which came with the 8600 is different from the one with the 8500.  the first screen I get is Capture1.PNG

Once I run the scan, I get the following screen

Capture2.PNG

There is no capability to add a page.

Re: multiple scanned pages in one output file

I found the answer.  You have to use HP Document Manager not HP Scan.

Capture4.PNG

Capture5.PNG

This needs to be communicated better to consumers.

Re: multiple scanned pages in one output file

Hi,

You do able to scan multiple pages using the HP software from the glass.. my steps above refer to the software provided with the Offiejet Pro 8600.. even further, I personally use the exact same device ;-)

Make sure to follow the guidelines below, Part 4 of step two refer to the discussed task:

Re: multiple scanned pages in one output file

If you look at my reply from 6:57am, you will see that HP Scan, as part of the 8600 software package, with scan preview selected,  DOES NOT give the capability for adding pages.  It does not matter that the instructions says it does do it if the software does not allow it.

I DO have the capability but I need to use HP Document Manager with TWAIN.

Hi,

Great you are able to bypass the problem by using the HP Document Manager..

Unfortunately I cannot see the samples you provided above, they are broken for some reason...

However, just for your reference, the HP Scan software of the HP 8600 do capabale of doing the required task as listed..

From the HP Officejet Pro 8600 software, click Scan a Document or Photo.

Make sure the Preview option is checked, as within the sample below:

Within the Scan Preview dialog, you provided with the Add or Remove pages dialog:

Re: multiple scanned pages in one output file

I noticed one difference between our versions when using HP Scan.  On my top line of the window, after 8600 is USB, on yours it shows NET.  I am not sure why it would make a difference but it obviously does.

I am not sure why you can not see the images I loaded.
