office jet 6480

Can't open the solution center since I installed windows 7.  My printer is hooked up via wireless to my laptop.  All I can do is print.  Are there new drivers coming out so I can use my solution center?  Thanks

Re: office jet 6480

Solution Center software is not compatible with Windows 7. However, the full feature download for windows 7 will be available for your product in late January 2010. However, the Windows 7 operating system contains a basic driver solution for your product. Some of the advanced product features are available only with the full feature driver of HP. Good news is, using the workaround procedures, you can still print from a software program. Also, You can  import and view images on a memory card, if your product has a memory card slot.

Please follow the instructions to install the basic driver for windows 7 and then review the workaround procedures to use the available features for your product which are available document that is accessible from the following weblink:

Windows 7 comes with built-in Fax and Scan application.  You can access it by typing Fax and Scan in the Search programs and files box and clicking on the Windows Fax and Scan icon that appears at the top of the Start Menu.

Hi,

The full feature software for your product is not yet available and therefore the Solution Center software cannot be used. The drivers should be available by Jan 2010. In the meantime, you can perform the steps provided in the link given below to install and use the inbuilt drivers to use the product Wirelessly:

Hope this helps.

Re: office jet 6480

Hi,

As you have upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 with the software installed until the Windows 7 full solution is delivered in late January you can install this patch and solution center will find your printer again.

Re: office jet 6480

I downloaded the fix, but did not open solution center.  I guess I'll just have to wait until the end of January.

Just don't understand why it's taking so long for the solution.

Thanks for all you help

Serious? HP dose NOT have Windows 7 Drivers for the Office Jet J6480 All-in-one? The Windows 7 beta was out for over a year, and we are still waiting/working on them?

HP, are there beta drivers/software we can use untill then?

I guess Lexmark has the upper hand as they have drivers for Windows 7 for their All-In-Ones. D'oh!

UPDATE:  Was able to install the Vista Drivers and such and all works. Simply run the install and when it fails there will be a Windows Message that the application you installed successfully or rerun with windows settings - click the top box - run with windows settings and it works with no problem.

Enjoy.

Re: office jet 6480

I have the officejet J6480 and have had no problems with it using my laptop with XP.  However today I bought a new hp laptop with windows 7 and can not get the wireless printer to print from the new laptop wireless.  Any ideas or should I just build another laptop with xp on it and stick with that?

I would suggest the following:  install the driver using Windows Update to install the driver.  Go to the Printers folder, Add a Printer, local printer, create a port, standard TCP/IP port, select the IP address of the J6480, Next, click on Windows Update, when the list repopulates select the Officejet J6400 series and complete the installation.
