registry tool cleaned system, printer stopped working
HP7555 operating on Windows XP Pro
Had software issues over the years with this printer and always reinstalled
this time not happening.
First two days of trying to install recieved constant fatal error messages (Codes of course not shown on HP website)
msi.msi_BPD_scan on event viewer also referenced but mainly stated system could not locate source of issue.
after two days, I reinstalled WIndows XP and tried again.. Same fatal error or new message saying "Already have a newer version installed on computer"
okay... so I go to REG-EDIT and delete all HP references
I delete ALL HP Files on the drives (As best as I can tell they are gone through search functions for HP)
Try again, get message that a newer version is already installed, just plug in your printer and it will proceed to install"
NOPE! No software shows under program lists, no software shows in add/remove software function
No software found in C drive
I am now assuming the registry is still thinking there is a HP installed somewhere ... BUT WHERE IN THE REGISTRY???
Or is it something ELSE?
The software will not engage installation becasue it thinks I have a newer version than the original disk installed which I do not.
Any IDEAS???
