This particular model has a BGA flaw. Over time the main BGA(proccessor) creeps away from it's pads. This will cause lockups. To verify if your printer is locked up simply open the toner door. If the lights DO NOT change, then you are locked up. You can either reball/reflow the BGA or replace the formatter board. The lights will always change status when you open the toner door.

I have put up the firmware on sendspace since it seems to have dissappeared from the net. Here are 2 links. 1 is for the original firmware update tool, a.k.a. The Easy Method.

P2015_FW_Update-20080312.exe

This 2nd one is the extracted RFU file using 7-zip. This is for the people who know how to "net use lpt1: \\pcname\share", "copy /b c:\P2015.rfu lpt1"

P2015.rfu

Good luck.

So much for relying on the "cloud" to keep things "forever". This firmware is not even 7 years old.

Very kind of you to post this! Thanks.

I realize this thread is a bit stale, but I came accross it looking for P2015 firmware, and figured I'd share what I've found out.

According to some, there are different versions of the formatter for this printer. Some versions will take the update, others will either not take it, or if it does take it, it will brick. That's why the firmware update was pulled. There is a Font/Firmware upgrade DIMM available to update printers to firmware 2XX80915 (20080915), I haven't tried it yet.

To fix the problem with the printer not waking up from sleep after a few weeks, disable the Bonjour service through the Embedded Web Server.
