I have the HP Deskjet F380 all-in-one printer and the scanner will not work. My OS is Windows 7 64-bit Laptop. It worked a week ago. I can print and copy. I have tryed everything on the HP help. Do I need a new printer?

Could you please provide a little more information such as exactly what problem you run into while scanning?
Is it an error, nothing happens, or you can't find the file?
Are you using USB, wireless, or hard wired?
Also if you could please summarize the steps you've taken thus far.
Have you tried the HP Scan Diagnostic Utility? If not please try it. It may find and resolve your issue.

I have an issue with my F380 deskjet scanner. It seems to be related to the HP solution centre.
I want to scan a sheet with text and save as a .pdf format
I get an error message saying the scanner is in use by another program - which it isn't. But I followed the advice in the error message and I have rebooted so the only product running is the HP Solution Centre software. I again go through the scan a text document and save as .pdf and I get the same message again.
I am running Windows 7
I have a direct connection to the scanner
I can scan a page directly from the device via the "devices & printers" in the Win7 control panel and it prints out the page.
The issue seems to be tied to the HP Solution Centre and possibly Win 7 (as this previously worked for me on XP)
Any help would be much appreciated.
