Re: HP Photosmart Wireless e-All-in-One Printer - B110a Will not scan.

Try using the scan diagnostic utility I linked below. It should give us an idea on what could be causing the scan failure.

Re: HP Photosmart Wireless e-All-in-One Printer - B110a Will not scan.

Thanks for your reply Binary_Zen

I have downloaded the diagnostic tool, result: The driver is missing or corrupt.

I have uninstalled & re-installed several times with the same result.

When I SCAN the programme opens on my laptop, (O/S WIN 7 64bit), accept SCAN option &

I get the following message with yellow warning triangle:

Try the following steps:

Restart program

Reboot computer

Reinstall the HP Photosmart software that came with the device

Error information:

4,[(0,2,80004005), (2,22,80040001),(3,22,0)]

Done all that several times with no change.

I am using the printer on my wireless network, prints fine but WILL NOT SCAN

Any more help would be great

Thanks agin

Joy

Re: HP Photosmart Wireless e-All-in-One Printer - B110a Will not scan.

Do you have any other HP devices installed in this computer? Is this an HP computer? If you answered NO on both questions try the steps below.

1. Uninstall the software again.

2. Open Windows Explorer, go to c:\program files\ and look for the HP folder. Delete the HP folder.

3. Go to c:\windows\twain_32. Delete the HP folder.

4. Restart your computer. Reinstall the printer software.

Re: HP Photosmart Wireless e-All-in-One Printer - B110a Will not scan.

Hi again

Thank you for your reply.

Followed your instructions, still the same issues & messages.

Ran the diagnostic utility  again.

Red cross against DRIVER

Red cross against WINDOWS (WIA) SCAN

Yellow Triangle against HP TWAIN SCAN

I don't know what HP Twain is??

Any further suggestions before I throw the printer through the window!!

Regards

Re: HP Photosmart Wireless e-All-in-One Printer - B110a Will not scan.

Hi Joy,

This is going to be tough to break since you have done a lot already to reset the software installation. Did you ever have this printer work on your computer? If it did work at one point do you remember if there were any system updates that happened prior to the scanner not working anymore? What I am afraid of is that the HP entries in the registry got corrupted. To fix this corruption you will need to uninstall the SW again, restart the computer, open regedit.exe and then search for B110a and delete all items that is related to HP. I know that this is frustrating and I wish I have a silver bullet to resolve this issue as quick as possible.

Re: HP Photosmart Wireless e-All-in-One Printer - B110a Will not scan.

Hi again & thank you for your prompt reply.

This is the first time I have used the SCAN option. The printer itself works perfectly.

I have just scanned directly to an SD card & then uploaded to my laptop.

At least this is a work around . I will have a go at your latest instructions & let you

know how it goes. I may well leave it until tomorrow as I have spent so much time

on this that I am a bit fed up with it, other things to do!

Fingers crossed or I may well use that silver bullet!!

Regards

Joy
