C6280 Printer and Vista OS. Recently installed Driver Updates (all) for 6280. Now get software install messages/errors messages for all Users. Must cancel numerous times and finally in lwr right of screen Printer ready msg appears.
Error msg indicates a network resource is unavailable; choose an altedrnate path to folder containing: HPPhotosmartEssential.msi in the box below.
The original "box below" defaulted to:
on initial installation.
Printer works fine, after cancelling Installer Program numerous times. How can I get rid of this??
Thanks for the help.

Now go to C:\Users\Joe\AppData\Local\Temp\, and look for a new 7zS folder, and go to 7zSxxxx\setup\HPPhotoSmartEssential\ , and you should find the .msi file there. Right click on it and select 'repair'.

Click on the BLUE KUDOS button on the left to say "Thanks"

I have same problem mentioned by Joe_1, and tried your solution (open the installation file used to install the software. let it extract itself, and exit out of the welcome screen), but I do not find "HPPhotosmartEssential.msi" file into "C:\Documents and Settings\@Antonio\Local Settings\Temp\7zS2BE3\setup\hpphotosmartessential\
Any new fix?.
BTW, I am using "DJ_AIO_06_F2400_NonNet_Full_Win_esn_130_163.exe" dowloaded from HP support website (two times to avoid any corruption during download), but it always have same problem that also have installation CD received with the new machine.

Add me to the list of folks having this problem. v3.5 works without a problem, but each time I reboot, this install package tries to run. Far as I know, know changes were made to this software.

Getting the same thing with my C7280 printer. Didn't update the software and all the sudden every time I log in I'm getting the same error message. I have to hit cancel about 10 times to get the error to go away. Totally frustrating!
