Hi,

 

No, you have to buy this software now. Vendors (all of them) don't supply OCR software for all low end printers because the software cost and many good free software around. Please try:

DON'T FOLLOW THAT LINK!  It tricks you into thinking you're going to get free & adequate software, then into paying ca $27 Australian for a plug in; then when you try to do OCR it will be hopelessly inadequte - it only lets you edit a few lines at a time, and won't let you change e.g. font or paragraph features - only text; it won't let you save anything you've edited without a watermark UNLESS you go on to pay another $60 for the rest of the package.

 

This is hugely disappointing:  I bought Envy 4500 BECAUSE I read that it had OCR software, and now I can't even get an adequate software package by paying more.

The site mentioned is known for tricking people into buying products.

They also provide false and misleading information and often offer software bundled with malware.
