How to stop Device Status Alerts

I recently installed the software for an All-In-One C7280 including the HP Solution CenterI like the convenience of one click access to printer information but teh Device Status Alerts that pop up in the corner of the screen are too big, too intrusive and annoying. I've searched the settings and can't find any way to turn them off. I don't want to turn off the Imaging Monitor and lose the features but these things are making me crazyCan anyone help?

Re: How to stop Device Status Alerts

IdahoGeek,

Did you ever get a response or solve the problem?

I have the same problem with my C6280 and it's driving me crazy, especially since I set the default to duplex printing and keep getting the 'Ink is Drying' message in the middle of the screen.

Thanks,

Merlin

Re: How to stop Device Status Alerts

No, I'm still having the same problem and no one seems to know an answer. At least in my case the pop-ups are in the lower right corner. If they were in the middle of the screen the software would be long gone.

Re: How to stop Device Status Alerts

I am experiencing the same anoying screens. Most tiresome is the fact that these do not disapear by themselves, not even if the situation they alert for already has gone.

So Im also very curious about a solution...

Re: How to stop Device Status Alerts

hi, previously i have the same problem regarding the annoying alert status of hp printers but now it totally gone when i

1. open task manager   (ctrl + alt + del )

2. right click the alert status ( under applications tab )

3. click the "go to process"

4. end the specified process

and that's it, the annoying alert status won't display anymore. ^_^

Re: How to stop Device Status Alerts

I am equally annoyed and have searched all the help menus in the HP software to no avail.  Evidently, HP expects us to automatically fall in love with these annoying work-intruders:

Source: HP Solution Center Help, Search for "alert" - Device Status Alert (emphasis mine)

"Alerts and other key messages related to your device are displayed prominently so that you cannot miss them even as you are busy working on your computer. For example, you can find out if your device is low on ink or if your device is ready for printing from the alerts that appear in the HP Solution Center and in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.

You can view alerts or the device status easily:

Every time you launch the HP Solution Center, error messages or alerts appear directly in the HP Solution Center window. Select the message to get more details about the alert.

Note When you need to purchase ink, you will see the alert details as soon as the Solution Center is launched."

I am quite sure this will be my last HP printer.

Re: SOLUTION: To stop HP Annoying Status Message Windows.

You have to wonder about HP's commitment to customer service, when it takes 3 years to get a solution for a simple problem??
