Icon tools on the desktop does not respond of HP Deskjet 1050 J410 series

Icon tools on the desktop does not respond so I can not see the ink levels and I can not make the choice to print or scan.
From the start menu only works on the scanner.
I launched the HP Print and Scan Doctor and functioning normally.
Someone can help?
Thank you.

P.S.: my O.S. is Windows 7 Ultimate

Hello emanu71,

 

Welcome to the HP Forums! :smileyhappy:

 

I understand you're unable to use certain features from the HP software. I would recommend uninstalling the software, please follow this HP document here. (Disconnect the USB cord out of the computer as this point.)

 

Next, clean your Temp folder on your computer. Please follow this document to help perform this step here. Now, install the full feature software from the HP website here. Choose your correct operating system; Either Windows 7 (32 bit or 64 bit). Do not connect the USB cord until it prompts you to connect.

 

If you need help install this software, I will provide a HP document on Installing the Printer Software in Windows 7 for a USB Cable Connection.

Hello, thank you for your updated information.

 

Please try scanning a document from Paint on your computer:

 

  1. Click the Windows icon ( ), click All Programs , click Accessories , and then click Paint .
  2. Click the Paint button ( ), and then click From Camera or Scanner .
  3. Make any desired setting changes, and then click Scan .

Let me know if you're able to scan using this program or not.

 

Also, try this patch here, which should resolve where your HP Desktop icon doesn't respond. Please let me know if this doesn't resolve your issue.

in Step 2 I can not click From Camera or Scanner, because the icon is gray background.
But I finally solved the problem of the icon on the desktop.
