Is there a printer's assistant utility for the desk jet 6122, which is being used with a Win7 64bit op.system, using the driver for the 990c?
I would like to be able to clean the cartridge, check ink levels, etc. from time to time as I could when using my 6122 software on XP. I am also using a USB connection. My machine has Win 7 Ultimate and I am using a lot of my old programs which worked on Win XP. The 990c driver on the 6122 dj prints front and back of double-page documents (duplexer used), but I don't have a way to check things as I had with my 6122 driver--I tried to install that driver, but it said it wasn't compatible with my 64 bit machine.
Any suggestions or solutions? Thanks much.

I am still seeking the answer to my question on how to install the Printer Assistant from my old DJ6122 printer files. There is a separate folder for it. There is an empty folder for "hpz" glue - what is supposed to be in that file and what does it doe. I believe under the files for DJ6122 Printer Assistant there is a bin folder witha couple .exe files: HP browser.exe; printpcl.exe. Then there is another folder hpz with files: hpzglue07.exe .
Are any of these the file (s) that I should click on to install this printer assistant for my printer? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Sorry but there is no Windows 7 64bit full solution software for your printer. The files that you are talking about are not designed for Windows 7, at this point I cannot think of solution that would help you see your ink levels and clean your print heads.
If I have helped you solve your issue please mark it as solved

Will the files I am talking about work on a Win 7 Ultimate machine in XP mode? Many of the programs on my machine or older programs that seem to be working on this machine. Is there a way to instal the Printers Assistant in XP mode on my machine?

would there be no Windows 7 64bit full solution software for older printers becuase you don't WANT to provide customer support for people with "older" printers? why not CREATE the software that you don't have? isn't that what customer SUPPORT is all about? I think HP is developing a very solid reputation for customer ABANDON, rather than customer SUPPORT.

I am a user, not a support person. I do not know the first thing about writing a program. I have bought a new printer since I posed my question months ago to this forum, so I guess the question is now moot..
