I Upgraded my system to Win 8.1 from 7 Premium & downloaded all the new drivers & photosmart essentials, but now when I try to "print to CD/DVD" from solutions centre photosmart essentials opens like before but no option showing to print to CD. When I go to the "create" option it doesn't list print CD either. Have tried opening essentials direct & again no print to CD option showing.
This was working fine 2 days ago before the upgrade, so what update or software part is now missing?

Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that your CD printing is not working with your HP Photosmart C309a.
I would recommend the following:
1.) Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software
2.) Use the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows for the re-install
Hope this information helps, and have a great day!

Followed your advice to the letter & used the links provided & hate to say I am now in a worse state than before.
Been in I.T. for over 30 years ( 3rd line support ) & always had issues with HP drivers, but never to this extent.
Yes it installed the drivers & HP solutions , like I had before, & prints photo's & documents, like before, but now it has fully removed "photosmart essentials" & replaced it with the online "photosmart creations".
This programme does not in any way give the option to print directly to CD.
Not a happy bunny!!

Thank you for your reply!
Unfortunately that is the only software that is currently available for Windows 8.1. There has been no updates since 2012.
If you really need to use that feature, I would recommend using Windows 7.
Hope this answers your question, and have a great day!

I haven't tried this, but you may be able to design and print a CD by using the square photo book pages project in HP Photo Creations and then setting the page size to the size of a CD on the final printing screen.
Let us know how it goes. I'll forward your request for CD printing to our development team.
