driver install for LaserJet P2035

I am having a rough time with installing the driver for a new HP LaserJet P2035.  I get the Windows XP driver here:

I launch the file and it looks like it unpacks a bunch of files very quickly.  Then I get a popup box that says it is Installing (adding print drivers).  It has a bar that continuously goes across the screen.  I plugged in the USB when prompted but I get additional popup boxes asking for the location for specific files.  It is like the driver unpacked a bunch of files but it cannot find any of them.  Plus the driver never tells you where it would have put them when it first unpacked.

Very frustrating.  I would like to add that the installation via the official HP CD is the same thing.

Re: driver install for LaserJet P2035

It seems you need to uninstall/scrub everything related to P2035 which was installed unsuccessfully. Then try to install the GDI Plug and Play package again.
