There have been no changes to my computer, operating system, settings, etc. yet my printer is suddenly no longer printing. I have been able to print the test page directly from the hp. I can copy and scan. I can "see" the printer and all of the settings look correct. I can communicate with the hp and see the ink levels etc. However, when i send docs/pics to print there is an error and nothing prints. Troubleshooting has found no errors. I have tried using the USB and the ethernet cables - no difference. Any ideas?

couple of questions here:
What operating system? When you send docs/pics there is an error....what is the error message? Are you running security (firewall/antivirus/malware) software?

I am having the same difficulty , where as my computer will simply not register the printer, i tred manually installing the driver but doesnt come up in the list.
However mine appears to just say officejet 4500. I have windows 7 .
