I spent close to 2 hours talking with HP support about the problem (after already spending around three hours trying to troubleshoot my problem myself).
According to the printer it completely connects with my wireless internet, however my laptop says it does not exist.
The tech person informed me it was Firewall problem and to talk to Microsoft (which costs money by the way), however I find that hard to believe because I have never had a problem downloading anything.
It is a brand new printer and I'm running Windows 7, does anyone know a solution?

Unfortunately, the only solution anyone has found is to plug it in, either by USB or ethernet. Sorry for the news. I have disabled the firewall for everything and there was no change. The printer would also do the same thing to my iPad's so it wouldn't have been Microsoft's or the firewall's fault. Best of luck to you. As a side note, HP should really update their customer service and acknowledge this problem.

having the same issues as above. first bought the printer, wireless worked fine. for seemingly no reason, about a month and a half after purchase (around late Sep, early Oct), wireless feature malfunctioned. the printer was able to connect to my home network, but neither of my computers could find the printer. after a couple hours messing with it, uninstalling everything and resetting the printer, I finally got it working again. now today, the printer is doing the same thing, only any steps toward rectifying the problem are futile.noticed the most recent post was dated 11/21. these failures seem to happen en masse.
any useful suggestions on how to resolve this would be appreciated.

Connect it to your wireless network, then on the front of the printer: Setup > Wireless > Enable Web Services.

It worked fine for the Microsoft Computers. Thanks. The iMac still present the same problem: 1) print a page, break for a while, print a segment. 2) the scanner does not connect through wireless.
Thanks.

Let's set a static IP address for the printer:
- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
- Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS.
- Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

Good day Dean,
Thank you for the revious reply. I have 2 laptops running on Windows 7 and one iMac on OSx 10.6.8
I have applied your recommandations to inscribe 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. I restarted the router, the printer and did a shut down of the all computers.
The laptops on Windows are working fine for printing and scanning. The iMac prints, with a pause after the first page and a half, but does not scan.
I have tried to add the printer again by entering the IP address, no success, I keep getting the "no connectivity" message. Although, I noticed that the printer has been renamed "E710nz [B2C518]-1" but there is no scanner with a "-1" that is detected when searching new peripherics with the scanner utility application. Is this normal?
What should I try next?
Thank you.
Denis

What router? Have you reset the printing system?
