Access to wireless printer from 3 different computers just failed

HP Photosmart 8450, XP computers. I have 3 computers (all having a good internet connection) and the printer running off of a Linksys router. All of a sudden I can't print wirelessly. The error message is: "the printer spooler was unable to connect to your printer......"  The printer has already  been set to a static ip address.  I can ping the printer from the computers, and have the proper ip address for the print driver. Also, I can't access the printer's web page after typing it's ip address in the browser.

Any help would be really appreciated,

Len

Re: Access to wireless printer from 3 different computers just failed

It sounds like the software in Windows XP, mainly the spooler service, has an issue communicating with the printer.

Try following the steps in this document from HP.

Before continuing, try restarting the spooler service.  The steps are included in Solution 7 under Windows XP in this document.

Re: Access to wireless printer from 3 different computers just failed

I should have posted that I fixed the problem quite a while ago. What I did was to set the printer's static IP address outside the possible IP addresses (dynamic) of my service provider.

Re: Access to wireless printer from 3 different computers just failed

I suspected that a static IP address would be the resolution and this is the first document.

Thanks for letting the community know what resolved the issue for you.

I am glad everything is working for you.  :smileyhappy:
