After Re-Installing HP OJ Pro L7780 drivers, will not connect to printer wirelessly...

The latest update to the drivers for the L7780 seem to have messed up the duplexing function on the printer. I tried all methods to try and get it to work but to no avail (also, initially everyting seemed to print in "Mirrored Mode" as well). I eventually reinstalled the drivers but now I have a new problem. I have tried to connect to the printer Wirelessly and through an ethernet cable but it refuses to "find" the printer when it is searching. Not sure what to do next.

FYI:

- Tried using CD with original drivers on it. Then tried drivers from HP website, no difference.

- If adding the printer through the Windows Vista wizard, picks up printer and works fine, but then I lose the HP software coompatibility.

- SSID = Mat Network, Encryption = WPA-PSK. Wireless network found on the printer and Network Test page all ok.

- Tried searching using Printer IP, still cannot find device.

- Installed all the updates from HP website and has had no effect.

(Operating System = Windows Vista Home Premium X64).

Seems to be a problem with the HP software as Windows can find it, but HP cannot.

Any information would be good as now not sure what to do.

Thanks, Mat.

Have you disabled your firewalls?  Rebooted your router?

Yeah, have tried both of those with no avail. I am wondering whether or not to upgrade the firmware perhaps. Seems strange that Windows can find it but not the HP Install wizard.

Those are all the updates I have tried. I assume they installed correctly, but may suffer from the same problem as the other HP software in that they cannot locate the device because it won't connect. (Vicious circle).

Thanks for your help thus far.

Have you uninstalled the software before re-installing?

If so, have you tried a L3 uninstall (you may be able to find it on your original CD)?

[ Edited ]

I did remove all the hp software from my pc before the install. Could you just clarify what a L3 install is. I haven't seen it on the cd.

Thanks for your advice so far.

Mat.

L3 is a very thorough uninstall.  Your software CD may not have it.  Search for it on your CD.
