I need to solve this error:
"Print Cartridges Listed Above are not intended for use in this printer as it is currently configured"
I bought my HP Photosmart Premium C310 directly from HP a little over a year ago. I checked the box to have an additional black replacement cartridge included for about $40. The cartridges I installed originally are all now empty (that's right, it doesn't get used a lot and the original set lasted over a year). I put the new cartridge in and get the above error message. After a phone call, it turns out there are two kinds of cartridges, 'setup' and 'regular', and setup cartridges are only accepted the first time the printer is used. The shipped replacement cartridge that I paid $40 for says 'setup' on it and that is the cause of the message.
HP phone support won't help me as it has been over a year. I'm feeling like I got ripped off for $40..... Is there a solution?

Hi LukeB,
I need for you to call support again to try and get this printer cartridge replaced. I also need you to take a close up picture of the cartridge in question, and then attach it to this post for me to review. Let me know what happens with Phone support?

1) use the menu to restore factory defaults
2) remove all ink cartridges
3) remove the cartridge holder as well.
4) close the printer and get an error msg saying you have to put in the holder and cartridgers.
5) instal the holder and setup cartridges
6) the printer says "thank you for installing genuine HP ink cartridges".
If your PC cannot see the printer anymore,
7) Print the printer configuration, get the IP address.
8) Go into Printer Properties on your PC and configure the Port to the same IP address,
9) View the printer and print jobs (Open Devices and printers, click on the printer) and click printer, and un-check use printer off-line.
