can anyone help as i'm at the stage where this is going back to the shop!
i have a laptop, a wireless router and a C4580. I've tried everything! I'm now getting another message saying 'cannot access installation package'! honestly, its quicker to go to my printer, plug in the USB and print! I'm sure there are cheaper printers on the market that can do this as so far this is a waste of money.
can anyone suggest from the beginning what i need to do?
an extremely frustrated user!

I am EXTREMELY disappointed with this unit, and am contacting customer support directly. They either fix it or give me my money back and I get one from a competitor, it's that simple. I have had problems with this unit since I bought it in Mid October. I have been patient, but there is a limit to anyone's patience.
I'll let you know what I find out.

I have just purchased one of these peices of junk and spent many hours trying to get it to go wireless, it is by far the worst product to come out of HP and should be withdrawn, and the label on the front EASY WIFI should be removed, I feel like running over it with my car, if anybody is thinking of buying one then dont, if you contact HP you just get a load of pre printed stupid idears, dont waste your time and money, NOW i,M GOING TO GET SOME SATISFACTION AND SMASH IT INTO TINY PIECES

I told them at this point, I either want it fixed or a refund. Period. Then no more HP products for me. The customer service from when I bought my PSC1210 to this unit has gone downhill tremendously.
So we'll see what happens, I'm also contacting Staples since I also got the extended warranty coverage from them.

I got an email back from support, now they want me to call them. I tried what you did and it didn't work. It's something inside the printer's hardware or programming that is causing it to freeze. It's never done it at the same interval since I've had it.
I need to get this rectified and move on, this is really costing HP a lot of my confidence.

have you used the online chat support?
the email option is too slow as you need to get it working. Try this if you havent, you chat online to a technician and this is what worked for me in the end.... Save my printer being thrown from a great height!

So here we are now, at the end of February, and it's STILL not fixed. The unplugging of the power from a surge and plugging it directly into the wall is a load of crap. ANYONE THAT WORKS WITH COMPUTERS KNOWS THAT IS AN A-#1 NO-NO!
The last time I talked to support, they have be unplug it and recyle the printer. It worked for less than a week and locked up again.
I am VERY dis-satisfied, and as far as I am concerned, I will probably NEVER buy another HP product. I think they know there is a problem with this all-in-one, and just refuse to fix it.
The hard part is that I bought it for the wireless capability, and it DOES NOT WORK!!!! AGAIN, LET ME REPEAT - IT DOES NOT WORK, HP!!!!
Now, I just wonder how to get my money back......
