I have a home network. It contains a WinXP box, Vista Home, & Windows2000Pro. The Win2000Pro box functions only as a file & print server. I have a C6180 all-in-one installed on the Win2000Pro box. This printer is shared from there. The WinXp box can print to it with no problem.
Up until about 6 weeks ago, the Vista box could print to it fine also. Now, when I try to print to it, it takes almost 3 minutes to get the print screen from the application (any app – word, wordpad, notebook, excel, etc), then I get a message stating that the printer is not responding, continue to wait, yes or no? No matter what answer is given, the print screen appears, but the printer is missing form the drop down.
Please note…I can print to this printer just fine from the Win2000Pro & XP boxes. Also, if I go to the printers on the Vista box itself, I can print a test page when I pull the printer up.
I have updated my drivers on the Vista box to be the latest from HP. I’ve also tried the diagnostic tool, and it found no problems.
Hopefully this posting is clear enough.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? What was the resolution?
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can supply.

My print jobs just sit in queue via wireless connection. Running Vista 64-bit. Have other laptops running Vista as well without problems. I have reinstalled the lasted software load, as well as the critical updates. The printer also goes offline and has to be reinstalled everytime I turn the computer off. Sometimes, if I leave the print job in queue, it will print when I logout or turn off the computer.
