C7288 vista wireless connecting problem

I have a c7288 that was working well on xp now I get a new inspiron  1427 working with vista and I cannot connect my computer and my printer together.. Both are connected and see my wireless network but they cannot see each other.. thanks for your help

Can you open the printer's internal web page by browsing to its IP address?  Is you can, then we know that basic connectivity between your laptop and printer is working.

 

Next, I'm assuming you've downloaded the latest driver for your C7288 from www.hp.com and tried running installing the newest SW.

 

What's left to troubleshoot is your laptop's firewall / security SW (e.g.. Norton/Symantec, Zonealarm, McAfee, Trend Micro).  What kind of security SW are you running on your laptop?
