Yes. I have been thinking of upgrading to Windows 7 from the existing Vista. Will that cure the problem?

Hi lrod,
If you do an upgrade you may still have the same issue which already exists in your current operating system. What i would suggest is to do a system restore to clear up any issues with the operating system before you attempt to upgrade from Vista to Win 7.

When I did the system restore, it showed me 3 days ago but there was a box that you could check for 5 more days, so I selected the farthest date on the list which was 3/16/12. I was hoping that I could go back further.

Hi lrod,
A system restore will not help this issue. What you most likely need to do i a full system restore after you save all your data.

What is a "full system restore". I already backup all my data files like documents, pictures, etc on a portable hard drive.

Hi lrod,
If you have a computer from one of the large manufactures (HP, Acer, Gateway, Dell) they setup a recovery drive to restore your computer back to the way it was when you bought it. If you have a clone PC (Non HP, Acer, Gateway, Dell) then you would most likely need to reformat the drive and reinstall the operating system.

Hi lrod,
I am not sure on a Dell Computer. What you will most likely need to do is restart the computer, and then press like F11 or F12 to start the factory restore. The screen should tell you which key to press to start the factory restore.
