Deskjet 3050 J610a Wireless issues

I'm trying to set up my Deskjet 3050 J610a to use over my wireless network, the printer sets it self up on the network and connects fine to the router, but is unavailable when i use the wireless network setup tool.

 

Router:   Linksys Wag160n

Auth: WPA-PSK   AEK or TKIP

Signal Quality is Max

IP assigned to Printer 192.168.1.111 Per my DHCP

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

latest drivers & network diag tools etc

 

The Printer Network Config page reports all is fine

I can see the printer connected to my router but can't access it via any of the HP software.

 

McAfee Security Centre (AV&Firewall) were on during Printer install but I've tried disabling them but still no luck.

 

Any Help??

Yes I've tried the network diagnostic tool and it doesn't find the printer.

I've also tried pinging the printer IP and get host unreachable.

But the printer setup software found the Wireless settings and the network report says setup correctly and no issues found.

 

This is very frustrating

Is your PC connected wired or wireless?  Can you get into your router settings and verify:

 

1. That AP Isolation (or just Isolation) is disabled.

2. SSID is being broadcast

3. 802.11g is enabled (along with other modes is OK, but g must be present).

Hi,

PC is a wireless.

 

1. AP Isolation is disabled

2. SSID Broardcast enabled

3. 802.11g enabled (using 801.11g currently)

Now I am thinking this is a Win7 thing.  Is your Windows updated?  

 

Perhaps an uninstall and reinstall of the software (get the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Driver" link at the top of this page).

Win7 is updated including SP1 , and I have been using the latest drivers and diag tool from the support & driver pages.

I'll uninstall the drivers and clean up and windows registry files and reinstall.

 

And maybe try this again on an XP machine.

I have been having the same issue except that the printer was working fine and then MS updated windows and now I can't print. Ran diagnostics, installed and reinstalled 3 times and the tried the utility you recommended and now the diag tool doesn't see the printer.

This may be caused by automatic Windows Updates.  I have heard of this.  Turn off auto updates, restart, then re-install the software.
