I have an Officejet 6500 wireless which is connected via USB to one computer, and should be on the wireless network for the other computers to use. Connected computer is XP, other computer accessing via wireless is Vista. Router is Linksys WRT-150N
To pre-address several 'solutions' I've found that haven't worked. The printer is not on the wireless network, if I print the printer network configuration page, it says not connected and that its IP address is 0.0.0.0. I am using WPA2. I have checked and the router does NOT have MAC address filtering enabled, however when I run the network test diagnostic report, it says FAIL on "No filtering" whatever that means. The router does not have it enabled however. It says "Not Run" by Connected.
When I attempt to run the setup tool on the XP computer the printer is connected to via USB, it ends with Error #100 VSA. What is going on? I'm ready to take this piece of @#$@# back.

I should add that I had this working perfectly fine when I first set it up, it just stopped working. Even setting upt he network settings directly on the printer it says it cannot connect. If I REMOVE the wireless security it says it cannot connect. The router is set to Mixed mode auto everything.

Let's start with resetting the printer - it is acting funny. Hold the # and 6 keys while turning the printer on.
If that does not work, and this sounds weird I know, change the channel to channel 11.

I had the same problem last night on newly purchased 6500 Officejet. I found the resolution to my issue by adding the MAC number into my router. I was not Filtering either but for some reason the install did not load. After I did this "SAVE" setting on Router and try to run the wireless setup via teh software again.
Hop it works for you.

Uninstall all i one printer from your laptop, disconect yours deskt top computer from wireless modem then reinstall printer software on your laptop printer. You see if you have connected yours desktop computer to modem and you want to install wireless connection to your laptop your printer is geting yours desktop computer IP number insted of your laptop. Good lock.

Restart the router by pulling its power plug momentarily.
