So, now I really got myself from the fire-pan into the fire...

I had a small issue with my HP 1022nw, check here:

http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Mac-Printing-and-Scanning/Only-first-page-is-printed-the-rest-empty-pag...

and here:

https://discussions.apple.com/message/20289881?ac_cid=op123456#20289881

so in a final attempt of solving the problem, I choose to install the new firmware, offered here:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=bi-59293-2&cc=nl&dlc=nl&lc=nl&...

Well now the printer works fine, using a USB connection or Ethernet connection. But no way will it connect wireless in any way. I cannot enter the WPA key and network name and the configpage just keep showing the IP Address 0.0.0.0

Did I screw up with the firmware update?

Hi There,

A new Firmware update is now available for the HP LaserJet 1022nw printer. The link is as below:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=bi-117532-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...=

Please update the firmware via USB connection only and it should bring back the Wireless connectivity options.

With Regards.

Hi tmbreuker,

It is possible something did not flash over correctly. Have you tried to reflash the latest firmware to see if it corrects the issue? If not, I recommend to do so. Here's a link (just incase you no longer have it):

Hi Gordon_H,

went along and tried to update again. I first had to enable RFU mode and then tried to update. No luck, I still get the error message "Make sure the RFU setting on the control panel is set to ON. The firmware update will fail if it is set to OFF or OFF AND LOCKED. For details refer to the information provided on hp.com.".

Ok, next thing to try would be a Cold Reset. Here is a link to the instructions for doing so:

Ok, I don't know why I did not think of this previously. After you flashed the new firmware, the printer goes back to a "factory" fresh state, meaning you need to start over when setting it back up. To set up the printer wirelessly, you need to use a network cable temporarily. Check out the pdf link below for instructions (start on page 16):

Hello.

Did this get resolved as ive just updated the firmware on my 1022nw (to 20120928) and now my printer refuses to connect to my wireless network.

Its fine on USB and on a LAN but when i connect to it (via a web browser), the wireless setup tab has gone missing.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your time.

Hi,

problem still there, printer doens't assume another IP address then 0.0.0.0

Wireless setup tab gone missing as well. Now I use the printer wireless, by connecting it to a mac express via USB...

I have the same problem.

After update  to firmware datecode 20120928 the Wireless option has disappeared, also when the network cable was removed the blue wireless led used to flash when searching. It is now on steady all the time.

It looks, to me, that HP have updated the firmware and removed all wireless abilities form the 1022NW and only issued a 1022N setup and no way bakc to the old firmware!

The wireless facility on this printer was eseential for me, so it looks like it's heading to ebay and I will be replacing it with another, likely not to be HP the way things are going.

Yeah i think were all having the same issue after that Firmware update.

Surely if we can revert to an older firmware, we can get the wireless back. It still means i have to print one page at a time from OSX and sometimes reboot the printer - but thats better than not being able to print at all hey.

The new firmware is on their FTP under this link:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL22689/bi-59777-2/HP1022_FW_Upgrade_Security_20120928.exe

Ive had a quick look on the FTP using a client hoping i could find older firmware.

Does anyone have the name of the older firmware that worked, i think i can use filezilla to search the FTP?

Really dont want to set it up shared on my mac or get rid of it - come on HP, sort this out.

Thanks for youe time guys.

Warren
