HP 6600 Wireless setup problem

My printer is not recognized on the wireless. The software is asking for "an "IPvre or IPv6 adress or a DNS hostname". The softward dialogue box does not show the printer as connected. The wifi test is good. When I typed in the IP address provided on the wireless network test results, it said it was invalid. So, I am unable to connect wirelessly. I have a MAC.

What router?  What version of OS X?  Is this a DeskJet 6600?

 

If the IP address from the network test is 0.0.0.0 or 169.254.x.x the printer is not connected to the network.
