HP Officejet 6500 not printing

I used to be able to print with the wireless but recently something must have happend because it says that i am connected to the printer but whenever i try printing there is an error and won't print. but it will print when i am connected with the USB cable. can someone please help?

First, what operating system and router are you using?

Can you "see" the printer by typing its IP address into a browser?  You can get the IP address by printing a Network Config Page from the front panel of the printer.

Having same problem with Officejet 6500.

Using Win7, it had worked fine for weeks, then just stopped.

My PC still sees the printer.  When I type in the printer's ip addy in the browser it shows the 6500 status page, where info about ink levels etc. is shown.  It says the device is connected and ready to go.

However, now when I go to print something, nothing happens.  I had worked fine w/ this setup until a few days ago.

It will print vis a USB connection.

Anybody have a clue why the wifi printing quits working on this printer?

Try disabling all firewalls.

I've tried disabling all firewall. but it used to work just fine and it just stopped with the wifi.

You can try rebooting your router and printer.

If that does not do it, download and run this diagnostic tool.

Hi,

During certain cases, you may have completed the physical integration perfectly.

But still you may not be able to print anything.

This can be due to the absence of a driver installed on your system.

The problem can easily be averted, if you are installing the driver corresponding to the manufacturer.

You can ensure that the version corresponds to the exact version of the printer series as well.

I've had fits with my 6180.  I have loaded and reloaded the drivers, it will work for a few days and then it loses it.

I'm done with HP.

I have this exact same problem. It seemed to start after I hooked the printer up via USB to print once. Ever since then, it hasn't printed wirelessly.

I'm using Win 7x86.

Tried printing wirelessly with a fresh-install of win7x86 on another computer, and it STILL did not print wirelessly. The wireless icon is on, and it shows the printer is online when viewed from the computer.

The printer will print via USB... but the whole reason I got it was because it was wireless and I could have it anywhere in the house. Now it is a big inconvenience, as I have to move the printer near my computer to print anything (there's little/no room near my PC for this huge printer)
