I can print using the USB cable, but not wirelessly, on Leopard. When I attempt to connect the printer to the network, the blue light flashes for a while, and then goes out. It won't print wirelessly for our Windows 7 PC either.
Is there a way I can add the printer onto my wireless network?

Tell me about your network - router brand/model, encryption type (WEP, WPA, etc) and ISP type (DSL, Cable, etc).

I am also having troubles connecting my Mac wirelessly to the printer. I tried deleting the printer and seeing if it would pick up wirelessly but the blue light keeps blinking and eventually turns off.
I think my main issue is that the bluetooth connection isn't getting picked up on my network (datavalet- I'm using a wireless network shared by many other people). Any tips?

If you are trying to connect your printer to your network, do not use bluetooth, it will not work. You need to use wifi. If you use a wireless network of which you are not the administrator, it may be difficult. Do you have to login and register your computer with this network? Can you contact the network administrator for help? It is likely a network issue, not an issue with your printer.

I assume that you are trying to connect wirelessly? I am not sure the 10.6 driver supports this.
You could try to reset the printing system:
- Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
- Right (control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add it. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

Hey, I'm having the same problem...but i've tried resetting my printers and it never seems to be able to find the wireless one.
I have DSL internet, we use a WPA2 encryption and the router brand is SMC network. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.
Also, I'm using OS X 10.6.8

I called HP support and they sorted me out, but I'll post what worked on here in case anyone else is in the same boat.
My printer was connecting to the wireless network but my mac wasn't finding it when the USB cord wasn't plugged in.
1. print out the self test/configuration page by holding down the red x button for 7 seconds.
2. notice if the printer status says "connected"
3. locate the IP address (IPv4 on my sheet)
4. In network settings>>printers and fax>>+ (add new printer) click on the IP option (instead of default) at the top
5. In the protocol section, use the drop down menu to find HP Jetdirect - Socket
6. The "Address" will be the IP address from your configuration page
7. Print using: use the drop down menu to select software. In the box that pops up, type/search for "HP LaserJet p1100w" (it's the series, doesn't matter that it's not 1102 exactly) and select that.
8. Click Add.
You mac will search for your printer, making sure that it's online and viola! presto print!
Hope this helps anyone else who is ready to throw their brand new printer out the window....

Hi,
Your suggestions worked -- except for the last step. I can't seem to add the printer. Everything else went well and I thought that might have solved the problem, but still no luck. I'm using a MacBook Air and OS 10.7.1, btw.
Any other ideas? This is really frustrating.

Just bought the P1102w today. Cannot get the wireless to work. Tried the HTML Config and got the "Error line 6 etc..." and "Error line 12 etc..." I have unstalled and reinstalled the most updated driver and firmware from the HP site (LJP1100_P1560_P1600_FW_Update) and does not work.
I tried to add the printer via IP address from the self test / device configuration print out, but says my IP Address is 0.0.0.0. Followed the instructions and that did not work either.
I am using an iMac with 10.7.1. Any help would be greatly apprecatied. Thank you.
