HP PhotoSmart Plus CD035A - Cannot Find Wireless Connection

Hi,

I followed the directions on the CDROM that came with the printer.  The printer and computer cannot find each other.  I know my router is working because I use it with my laptops.

Router: Net Gear Dual Band N600

Laptop: HP Elitebook 6930P

I have connected the printer with the USB cord and it works.  I just cannot get it to find the printer wirelessly. I also tried using the Touchsmart pad on hte printer adn looking for connection but it says no connections found.

I appreciate any help.  We are thinking about returning this printer because I cannot get it to work.

There are a few things to check:

1. Is your Netgear operating in a mode that includes 802.11g?  This printer will require 'g' to be present.

2. Make sure your network name (SSID) is being broadcast.

3. Make sure your Netgear has the latest firmware.

I assume you used the Wireless Setup Wizard found in the Setup > Network menu?

Hi,

The 2.4 GHZ band has "g" but the 5.0 GHZ band does not. Is that a problem? If so I don't see an option in the router admin tool to add "g". I confirmed the SSID is being broadcast and I have the latest firmware.

I tried this but it did not work for me.  I don't think my printer is on the network.  I am trying to fix that but unsuccessful thus far.

I was successfull adding it to the network adn it says it is connected wirelessly but now when I try to print something it says the printer status is offline when I check the print job on my laptop.  Ugh.

I suspect your security system's firewall may be in the way, but let's see what the utility tells us.
