A Sagem (provided by the ISP) as DHCP and direct connection to the internet. A Belkin N+ is used to route the internet wirelessly, but is furthermore passive. Both these routers are positioned next to the printer. Every laptop is connected to the wireless network of the Belkin router, as is the printer.

Good on finding a control for the saver mode. I cannot find anything close.

Is the wireess radio enabled on the Sagem?  If so, disable it.

The Belkin is set to bridge mode so that all of the DHCP is handled by the Sagem, right?  If so, that is good.

In what port in the back of the Belkin is the Sagem plugged in?  WAN or LAN?

Let's set a static IP address and External DNS for the printer:

- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
- Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. This is Google DNS. You can choose another external DNS if you wish.
- Click 'Apply'.

Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.

After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try this fix in the near future, but I'm unable to do so now.

In the meantime, could you explain why this would fix the problem when the IP-address of the printer never changed during any of the printing failures? This has been monitored closely.

Setting the IP address as static may not fix the issue, however, setting a DNS that is not your ISP's has shown to be effective.

All right, we're back at were we started.

Typing the IP-address of the printer in the browser gives this result:

It works!

This is the default web page for this server.

The web server software is running but no content has been added, yet.

Which is Apaches default page. The settings pages which you refer to, appear not to be installed on the printer.

I've checked and double-checked the IP-address and tried two different systems and three different browsers.

I found this on the Apache website:

"You unexpectedly see an Apache HTTP Server installation page when you visit a Web site. If you have sent us mail because you saw a page saying 'It Worked!' (or something similar indicating that Apache has been installed) on your screen or a Web site you visited, please go back and READ the page. It should explain what is going on. The page is the equivalent of a demo or the ReadMe file from a Windows application installation; it is intended for the person who installed the software and is supposed to show that the installation was completed successfully. The problem you are experiencing has nothing to do with us, and we cannot help you. You need to contact the Webmaster for the site. If the site is www.foo.com, for instance, try sending mail to <webmaster@foo.com>. If it's www.toddsbeer.org, send mail to <webmaster@toddsbeer.org>. And so on."

I think there is something funny with your router's DNS (probably your ISPs DNS) setting.  Can you get into the router settings and change the DNS to google DNS or OpenDNS?

Hi, I had the same problem with my HP d110 series printer, it was saying Offline and all my test pages said I was connecting successfully. I tried everything and it didnt work. This is how I solved the issue. Went to Add a Printer in devices and printers. Then re-downloaded the driver installation for my printer n set a new printer up and set as default and the new printer device turned online. Easy as that. Took less than 3 minutes. Hope this helps to resolve everyone elses issues.

Ha! You know how many times I've reinstalled my Photosmart 5510 all-in-one in the last couple of months (sometimes uninstalling completely first, sometimes just adding as a new printer).  It works for a couple hours, then stops again.

(I'm running WinXP with a Belkin wireless router on my main computer, Win7Starter on my laptop).  Like many of the others here, it shows as connected and the IP address and network are all fine, it just stops working.

And don't start spouting codes and stuff at me, I'm no techie and you'll just make my brain melt and dribble out of my ears, and I'm not up for trying to clean up ANOTHER mess.
