Spoiler
Your Not Going To Like This...

Sorry mate. There is nothing you can do as HP refuses to fix the problem nor refund the defective device.

But tell your friends and or anyone else in your company to clear away from HP. (Though they do a decent job on the high end side, ie servers, etc. and the technicians are actually in the US and can trouble shoot on-site...)

I placed the replacement device back in its box and shoved it away in storage... I bought a Brother and so far have not had any issues with it.

Now, I wonder if Uncle Sam will allow my Accouting Dept. to write this off as a loss...

If you bought it at Costco, they will take it back past the usual return policy if you explain the problem. I replaced it with a Canon and love it. Will never buy HP again!

Re: HP4500 officejet wireless -ASLEEP- Power Save Mode

My HP Officejet 4500 wireless printer goes into power save mode and the only way to unfreeze it is to unplug

the power. Is there any way to disable power save mode?

There is no other way!!!They sent me a new computer after numerous tries at different things and the new one does it too!!! Can't believe they are still selling them. They know about the problem.  Don't believe them when they say they have a firmware fix on the way.

Re: HP4500 officejet wireless -ASLEEP- Power Save Mode

Has the problem been resolved with the HP 4500 printer.  My HP 4500 printer seems inconsistant with when it decides to go into power save mode.  Ugh!  Not sure if I still have the receipt.  I'd just deal with it the same way most American voters or consumers deal with it by wishing it will just go away but it appears that HP cleverly designed the firmware to only allow so many reboots before a total self destruct where the printer will be useless.

Is the problem resolved?  If so what is the resolution?  If not and someone from HP monitors this page can I get credit towards an upgraded HP printer?
