HPC309A - wireless connectivity issues - HP Solutions Centre

I have just tried to re-install HP Solutions Centre on a new laptop and it is causing me some issues.

My C309a is able to print over my wireless network, however when i open HP Solutions Centre it says that my printer is disconnected. I cannot scan wirelessly. When i click on scan i get an error message saying that the imaging device cant be found. When i click on network settings it says that the device is not set up for networking and there are no network settings.

I can acces my printer wirelessly via its ip address and in networking status it says i am connected. wireless signal strength is 5 and everything looks as it should.

My router is a netgear DGND3700 and my OS is Windows 7 64bit. everything worked fine with the same setup on my old laptop.

Re: HPC309A - wireless connectivity issues - HP Solutions Centre

also when i connect my laptop to the printer via usb or ethernet, i am able to scan only via the paper feed, not on the glass. and even then i get an error message saying that the original is jammed . i get this message whether there is paper in the printer or not.

HPC309A - wireless connectivity issues - HP Solutions Centre - Now Solved

I was in the boat many are in with my printer reporting Network card failed - contact HP support, etc.  Just about to go and get a new printer when a post on this forum caught my eye.  I can't find it now but it essentially said try these steps.

1. Reset Network to factory default

2. Restart Network services

3. Uninstall all drivers and reinstall latest ones

I had done this before and it didn't work but now I am aware there are Windows 8 drivers available, I thought it might be worth another go.  So I gave it one.  The first message I go was that the SSID wasn't recognised which I thought was a healthy development so I reentered the SSID and password and then printed a network report.   It said PASS to everything.  I then tried scanning some photos and then tried printing.  It's back and working perfectly.  I hope this is not just  a temporary aberration but it looks pretty good so far.  :smileyhappy:
