HPdeskjet 9650

Truly frustrated!  I can't use my hp deskjet 9650 printer with my new vaio because it doesn't recognize the driver; so I downloaded the 9800 driver as instructed by hp help.  After rebooting the computer and unplugging and plugging the printer back in, it still does not respond! Help!

What operating system are you using?  How are you trying to connect your printer, USB?

sorry, that was dumb of me!  I'm using windows 7 and connecting through a usb.  After downloading the hpdeskjet 9800 driver and it still doesn't work, I tried the software for the 9650 but still nothing.  HELP!  I love photoshop and use it daily...well, I did until now.

OK, thanks.  Win 7 should have the driver in it for your printer.  Your computer may not be "seeing" the printer.

Do not connect it through a USB hub and make sure the USB cable is 2.0 compliant.

OMG!  It worked!  Thank you for the promptness and excellent information! I've printed a test page but not a photo yet...that's next, but if I have a problem, I'll know where to go! Again thanks,

I got my 9650 to work, but only once, after that it continue to load the paper and spit it out blank. I removed the printer driver and added it again several times, but it does the same thing, printing one image and than nothing after that.

Try resetting the printer by removing the power cable from the rear of the printer for 30 seconds or so.

Its still doing the same thing. Loads the paper and spits it out blank. After that the paper load button flashes. I push it to load paper, same thing happens.

New revolation to my problem. It is printing just fine when I print the imagine directly from HP photo vewier, but it acts up when trying to print from photoshop.

Aha!  Does it also print OK from other non-Adobe programs?  If so, look for an Adobe update.
